Meet Our Executives
Chief Executive officer
With more than 25 years of experience with the business practice needs of physicians and physician groups, Mike Drinkwater has focused specifically on the Emergency Medicine Billing industry as part of Gottlieb’s senior management team. He previously served as the Executive Director/Business Services for The Emory Clinic, a 700-member physician group practice in Atlanta, and as Chief Operating Officer for Physician and Hospital Support Services Corporation in Pennsylvania.
Mike has been a leader in bringing the principles of Total Quality Management (TQM) to the healthcare industry and to the field of Emergency Medicine billing specifically. His rigorous application of the TQM methodology—instituting continuous improvement through Statistical Process Control—has enabled Gottlieb to continue to elevate our service and optimize net revenues for our clients.
As President, Craig oversees all aspects of Gottlieb’s operations and strategy with a focus on elevating the customer experience and delivering innovative products to the marketplace. Craig recently joined Gottlieb from One Call, the market leader in workers’ compensation healthcare solutions. During his 5-year tenure with One Call, Craig held various leadership positions including Vice President of Finance for their Physical Therapy, Diagnostics and Transportation / Language business lines where he focused on managing the revenue cycle operations and delivering process improvement gains for One Call customers. Most recently as Senior Vice President of Product, Craig was responsible for the product strategy, execution and financial performance of One Call’s entire product portfolio.
Prior to One Call, Craig worked as a strategy consultant for L.E.K. Consulting, a top tier strategy consulting firm where he completed projects across numerous sectors including healthcare, retail, aviation and energy. While at L.E.K., Craig directed a cross functional team that delivered over $20M in operating and network synergies through process improvement initiatives and analytical insights. Craig also spent 5 years with Charles River Associates, a market leading economic litigation consulting firm, where he developed proprietary technology solutions for CRA customers.
Craig holds a Bachelor of Science from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Duke University.
Chief Operational Officer
Having joined Gottlieb in 1998, Amy is experienced in all aspects of Emergency Physician reimbursement. Amy manages more than 400 employees, who process the complete revenue cycle, and has been instrumental in developing and implementing process controls and procedures that reduce A/R days for our clients. Amy conceptualized an electronic workflow tool that allows her to manage and monitor every aspect of her team’s operations and, in collaboration with our IT team, brought the concept from design to fruition. Amy works closely with our partners and acts as an operational liaison between our partners and our staff.
Chief Technology Officer
As Chief Technology officer, Craig is responsible for the strategic execution of technologies which drive Gottlieb & Associates. Craig is a highly creative executive technology leader with nearly 20 years in the technology industry performing a wide array of roles encompassing senior leadership, architecture and development, project management and complex M&A delivery. Most of his career has been within the Health Care Technology space including companies such as Align Networks, OneCall Care Management, Quadramed and Medical Tracking Solutions with leadership roles of IT Director, Vice President and CTO.
Craig is a passionate and driven individual who is a member of the Jacksonville CIO Council, ITIL® Certified and driven to leverage the best technologies in order to deliver maximum value to the business, while also developing highly collaborative cultures and teams.
Craig graduated from Mohawk College in Canada with Honors.
Chief Information Officer
Delroy began his career in information technology in 1989 at Gottlieb Financial Services as the night systems manager. About this same time, electronic medical record systems (EMRs) were just beginning to be installed in hospitals on a broad scale. As our business has grown and technologies have developed over the past years, he gained knowledge and experience with all EMRs; converting from a paper system to an electronic system.
As IT Director in 2000, Delroy was part of the original programming team that wrote and designed the proprietary system and processes that are still the core of our current software. Delroy’s strengths lie in optimizing patient data flow, managing large projects and applications, directing multiple teams of developers and network engineers, overseeing reliable and continuous IT operations. He was also the catalyst in developing and implementing inter-department work flow measures while instituting a teamwork culture across departments. He is adept at dealing with complex situations and problems and in recruiting team members with positive attitudes and skills to work together to achieve desired results.
As CIO since 2004, Delroy’s primary role is to oversee the design and development of the company’s technological infrastructure (networks, computer systems, and platforms) to ensure optimal performance. Additionally, he is tasked with streamlining and finding solutions for an ever-changing healthcare market.
Meet Our Leadership Team
Vice President Emergency Medicine
As the Vice President of Emergency Medicine, Shanna oversees Gottlieb’s daily operations for emergency medical groups, including the full revenue cycle process and Managed Care contract negotiations. Shanna has over 20 years of experience designing systems aimed at helping ED physicians deal with complex insurance issues and is focused on helping improve their practices. Shanna provides direct assistance to Emergency Physicians and is responsible for development of the analysis, negotiation, and implementation of managed care contracts with all insurance carriers. Shanna is an expert in accounts receivables, revenue cycle management, and reimbursement trends.
Shanna serves on the EDPMA Board on behalf of Gottlieb, as well as EDPMA’s State Regulatory and Insurance Committee and ACEP/EDPMA Regional work groups. Shanna participates in lobbying efforts in support of Emergency Medicine providers.
Vice President Revenue Cycle Management
Danielle James, Gottlieb’s Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management, has more than 9 years of experience in healthcare, including leadership positions in revenue cycle management, operations, process excellence & technology business solutions.
As Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management, Danielle is responsible for leading the overall strategy, operations and optimization of Gottlieb’s revenue cycle platform. Danielle leads a team of individuals who deliver industry leading revenue cycle solutions for our customers. Danielle strives to promote a high-performance culture that translates to an environment of continuous improvement & demonstrated customer outcomes.
Prior to joining Gottlieb, Danielle held leadership roles with One Call, a Jacksonville based, national leader of specialized healthcare solutions for the workers’ compensation industry.
Danielle received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida.
Vice President of IT Infrastructure
As Gottlieb’s Vice President of IT Infrastructure, Steve specializes in bringing strategic, creative technology solutions to enterprise-class, often complex environments. He has consistently maintained a purposeful balance between economies of scale and service delivery standardization opportunities across the wide variety of environments he has served. Certified in many of the industry’s most highly regarded certifications in technical prowess and management expertise to each of his challenges. Steve has a track record for creating high-performance teams of IT professionals to serve the fast-paced and ever changing business needs that emerge through outstanding customer service as well as consistently delivering to IT projects under budget and ahead of deadlines.
Steve graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Computer, Cum Laude from UEI College. He is also certified MCITP: Enterprise Administrator (MCSE), CCNA, NCDA, C:EH, ITIL, Security+, BCNE, Project+ and MCTS: Active Directory, Exchange, Virtualization, Network Infrastructure, Windows 7
Vice President Client Finance
Matt brings 16 years of experience in Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care, and Primary Care Practice administration. As the Vice President of Client Finance, Matt serves as a business partner for our clients in developing and implementing revenue and operational improvement strategies for their practices, as well as, business intelligence metrics. Matt is known for his analytical approach and spearheading industry-leading trend analyses, benchmarking ratios, and advanced reporting techniques. Matt’s expertise has helped Gottlieb’s clients gain better insights into their practices, maximize their reimbursements, and has had a marked impact on Gottlieb’s process improvements.
Matt received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Health Administration from University of North Florida.
Vice President Finance
As Vice President of Finance, Lydia is responsible for all aspects of accounting and finance operations as well as the overall financial strategy for Gottlieb. Prior to joining the Company, Lydia was the Vice President and Controller for Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound healing services. She has over 15 years’ of experience in the healthcare and retail industries with both public and private companies, and began her professional career with PWC. Throughout her career in accounting, auditing and financial planning, Lydia has established a reputation for streamlining and improving processes, enhancing productivity, and implementing efficient operational solutions that enhances profitability.
Lydia received both her Master’s in Business Administration and Bachelor’s in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration from the University of North Florida and is a licensed CPA.
Vice President Human Resources
Angela serves as Vice President of Human Resources for Gottlieb, LLC with over 23 years of human resources related experience. In her current role, Angela is responsible for leading the overall human resource strategy, talent development and acquisition, organizational design, employee education and development, compensation and benefits, HR operations and technology, employee relations and the continuing evolution of the company’s culture.
Angela graduated from the University of West Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and earned her Executive MBA from Jacksonville University.
